What impersonation looks like for creators
Most impersonation is not about identity theft in the bank-account sense. It is about using your face and your following to make money from people who trust you:
- Fake Instagram, TikTok or X accounts using your photos and a similar username
- Accounts messaging your fans and asking for money, gift cards or "exclusive" payments
- Fake OnlyFans, Fansly or Linktree pages selling your leaked content
- Catfish profiles on dating apps and Telegram using your pictures
- Accounts posting AI-edited or deepfake content of you
Why we use two routes: impersonation and copyright
Platforms have impersonation policies, but impersonation reports are judged case by case and are often rejected when the fake account looks slightly different from yours.
Fake accounts are almost always built from your own photos and videos. You own the copyright in those, so we also send copyright notices for every stolen post. Platforms must act on valid copyright notices, and accounts that collect repeated copyright strikes are disabled. Using both routes together is usually the fastest way to get a fake account removed.
Platforms we remove fake accounts from
- Instagram and Facebook
- TikTok
- X (Twitter)
- Telegram channels and bots
- Reddit and Discord
- Fake OnlyFans, Fansly and link-in-bio pages
- Dating apps and websites using your photos
How it works
- Send us the fake accounts and your real profiles so we can tell them apart
- We document each account and the content it has stolen, before anything is deleted
- We file impersonation reports and copyright notices with each platform
- We follow up until the accounts are removed, and watch for new ones
Protect your fans in the meantime
Post a short note on your real accounts saying you will never ask fans for money by direct message, and pin it. Ask fans to report the fake account rather than engage with it. Keep screenshots of the fake profile and any messages it sent, including the username and link, because accounts often change their name when they are reported.
Protection for creators in the UK and USA
We are based in London and work for creators on both sides of the Atlantic. Copyright in your photos and videos exists automatically the moment you create them, in the UK under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 and in the US under the Copyright Act. You do not need to register anything to send a takedown.
We send notices under the US DMCA to US-based hosts and search engines, and copyright notices under UK and EU rules where they apply. Where leaked content involves intimate images shared without consent, there are additional routes: the US TAKE IT DOWN Act requires covered platforms to remove reported non-consensual intimate images within 48 hours, and in the UK sharing intimate images without consent is a criminal offence.
Confidential from the first message
You never need to send us explicit material. Share your creator names and links, and we handle the rest discreetly.

How do I report a fake account impersonating me?
Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and X each have an impersonation report form, and they usually ask the person being impersonated to confirm their identity with photo ID. You can do this yourself for free. We can report on your behalf as your representative, and we add copyright notices for your stolen photos, which platforms are obliged to act on.
Is impersonating someone online illegal?
Impersonation itself is not always a crime, but it usually comes with things that are, such as fraud, harassment or copyright infringement. Fake accounts also break the rules of every major platform, which is enough to get them removed.
How long does it take to remove a fake account?
Copyright notices for stolen posts are often actioned within days. Account removals depend on the platform and on how many reports and strikes the account has. Some come down in a day or two, others need follow-up.
What if the account keeps coming back under a new name?
That is common. We keep records of each account and the content it used, so new accounts can be reported quickly, and ongoing monitoring catches repeat accounts.
Do you handle fake accounts selling my OnlyFans content?
Yes. These are usually both impersonation and copyright infringement, so we report the account and remove the leaked content wherever it is hosted.
